1920s Holloway Prison Indigo Blue Burlap Fabric 2 Pieces

Historical fabric made in the Holloway Prison in London, England
around the 1920s. Holloway opened in 1852 but did not become an all female prison until 1902. Holloway was the historical site of the Suffragette’s hunger strike and was closed in 2016.

Historical Holloway Prisoner produced a blue stenciled leaf design on
burlap. 2 pieces hand stamped as shown. The end and beginning of stamp can be seen overall as the blue ink is not uniformed. Some small yellow age
stains. 3 pieces approximate sizes are 14 1/4 “ with no selvage x 74”; 25”
x 70 ½” and 51 ½” x 70”. (See photos for condition)

Buying Vintage is Sustainable

Thank you for considering used items. When you reuse, recycle and reinvent old things, you are preventing new ones from being made. When you wear vintage you not only prevent new ones from being made, you are creating a fashion look and style all of your own. You are also helping my small business and my family as well as the families of those who are always scouting out great finds for me. For that, we all THANK YOU! ❤️
