Early Turquoise Jaclas As Choker or Necklace

Early Native American turquoise disk bead jaclas. These were originally earrings and hung from a beaded necklace. They can still be worn this way as they have double hooks. They were lengthened with hand soldered sterling silver bench beads and as a necklace it is 17 1/2" long.

White beads are alabaster "corn" and there are red coral and brown heishi as well. Turquoise is high grade American with brown matrix and rich color. Beads are graduated in size and holes are hand drilled. Silver is very tarnished.

Weight: 45 grams.  C.1940. Fred Harvey Era. Most likely pawn.
