Vintage 1970s lost wax cast sterling silver ring. Some of the swirling tendrils look like leaves. In the center it is set with a nugget of gold. It looks to me like someone melted a piece of jewelry and made a nugget out of it.
This was a very popular style in the 1970s. I have not removed the nugget to see if it is solid or plated, I would have to cut into it and to test it I have to scratch it or put acid on it. I don't want to do that. It has value as a Brutalist piece.
Size 4. Face is 7/8" in diameter. The gold piece is 3/8" in diameter. Weight of the ring is 10.9 grams.
I do not know if the gold nugget is solid, what karat, the weight of it or if it is plated.
