Cripple Creek Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace with Provenance

Vintage Navajo made sterling silver squash blossom necklace set with natural Cripple Creek turquoise. (CO). It has hand soldered hogan beads, ten squash blossoms with a a Naja that is set with 8 stones. Necklace is 28" long. The Naja measures 3" tall by 2 3/4" wide. Weight: 7.7 ounces. It is very tarnished. I see no hallmarks on the piece.

It comes with its original receipt from the last owner who was named Frank Gingerick  I am told that he rode a Harley and was a member of the Hell's Angels. He and his wife both wore turquoise. They were known to buy their turquoise in the 1970s, but the pieces were not new, they bought vintage pawn from antique stores and INdian stores.

This receipt shows the necklace being purchased with it looks like 4 rings and they were placed on layaway. The shop owner wrote on the receipt that this is Cripple Creek turquoise, which I agree. They also wrote that this was made a member of the Navajo Yazzie family. I see no proof of that. The construction of the necklace tells me that it was about 20 years old when he purchased it. (A 1950's piece) You will receive the receipt with the necklace as they have always been together.

It is seldom that I get provenance with a piece. I am thrilled to offer this to you.

Shipping by priority mail with full insurance is free to you on this piece.

Buying Vintage is Sustainable

Thank you for considering used items. When you reuse, recycle and reinvent old things, you are preventing new ones from being made. When you wear vintage you not only prevent new ones from being made, you are creating a fashion look and style all of your own. You are also helping my small business and my family as well as the families of those who are always scouting out great finds for me. For that, we all THANK YOU! ❤️
