Early Southwestern Pierced Hoop Earrings with Teal Turquoise Stones
Early Navajo sterling silver hoop earrings with pierced ear wires that are original. Each earring is set with a natural teal colored turquoise stone. These have not been stabilized. Stones are cracky and crazed with a small chip. The turquoise vein is on natural black chert. This turquoise is transparent and so much so that I tested them with a gem tester to see if they are chrysoprase, but they are turquoise.
With the ear wires they are 1 7/8" long and 3/4" wide. Total weight: 7 grams. Tarnished. No hallmarks. C. 1930-1940. Though they are not perfect, they are great collector pieces.
