Fred Harvey Navajo Turquoise Bracelet Sterling Silver
Early Navajo cuff bracelet. Fred Harvey train station era. Hand-stamp decorated with appliqué fluted buttons. Set with natural, untreated Cerillos Mine turquoise. Stone is crazed because it was never stabilized with resin. It is not in danger of breaking. Interior: 6" circumference; Opening: 1.25"; Measures: 1.75"W. Very tarnished with crusty, old silver polish in low spots. Has one crack in cuff that is visible from the back. This was from heating the metal when it was forged. I still would not advise bending it in this area to size even though it has existed 90 years this way. Has an old solder repair. Weight: 51 grams. C. 1925.
