Navajo Mercury Dime and Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace with Provenance

Old 1940s Navajo silver squash blossom necklace with provenance. The handmade beads and blossoms are made of old American Mercury dimes. Two each, soldered at the middle. The Naja is made of hand pulled wire. I love the fat blossoms! They are the original style and shape that is in reality a pomegranate blossom, not squash. It is set with Natural American turquoise that has black chert matrix.

Measures 25" long. The Naja measures 2 1/4" by 2 1/4". It weighs 428 grams.

This piece is old pawn owned by Navajo. It was purchased in August of of 1974 at and antique shop by Frank Gingerich. He was a farrier, a biker, member of the Hells Angels and a collector of fine vintage Indian jewelry.  It comes with its original pawn ticket with the name C. Platero-Original owner who pawned it. Dated 1968.  It has Frank's receipt and a business card from the shop where he bought it.
