Navajo Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace Sterling Silver S
Early sterling silver & turquoise Navajo squash blossom necklace.
This piece is a marriage. This means that the center pendant is not original to the necklace. The original piece was not a naja, but the pendant was broken an lost by the original owner. I have had this for years and have been waiting for a piece to come along that was a perfect fit. I have it now!
The pendant is signed and was made by Navajo Robert Johnson. It has the hook style of bail so it can be removed and worn alone on a chain or string of beads. You just have to be sure to clamp the bail down tight.
All of the turquoise on this piece is natural. The hogan beads are hand soldered and the holes are hand punched out. The blossoms are also hand cut and soldered.
Measures 28" long. Clasp is slightly off to the side in the back.
Blossoms are 1 1/2" long. The center pendant is 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide.
Total weight: 158 grams. Very tarnished, Strung on wire. Wire ends are not tucked into cones and somewhat exposed. Might possibly scratch neck and need to be filed.
