Old Mexico Hand Soldered Bench Bead Necklace Sterling Silver Pearls
Vintage hand made sterling silver pearls necklace. The beads are graduated in size from 1/4" in diameter to 1/2" in diameter. Beads are on chain. Measures 34" long. Slide-in locking clasp. Hallmarked on the clasp and has a number 3 eagle stamp. Made at Taxco, Mexico C. 1948 to 1980. Weight: 71 grams. Beads were made in halves and the holes were hand punched from the inside out instead of being machined. This tells us that they are the earliest beads. They have a satin finish instead of a high shine. Some tarnish. Chain has stretched and there is a 1" gap in the back with no beads. They are very rich looking on and remind me of the beads that Rocki Gorman makes these days...only these are better because they are vintage, the real deal!
