Old Navajo handmade sterling silver bench bead necklace with turquoise and a boar's tusk.
The tusk is weathered and discolored. It was a Southwestern desert find involving a boar that died of natural causes. It is 1 1/2" long. It is considered to be medicine by some and protection by others. There is chocolate brown matrix and a bit of quartz. Beautiful stones! The pendant measures 3" long by 1 7/8" wide. The turquoise is natural and Mint green in dark and light values.
The necklace is double strand and strung with hand made tube beads and hand soldered hogans that have the earliest construction with the holes punched by hand from the inside out. Necklace is 17 1/2" long. Strung on nylon line. Weight: 60.7 grams.
Thank you for considering used items. When you reuse, recycle and reinvent old things, you are preventing new ones from being made. When you wear vintage you not only prevent new ones from being made, you are creating a fashion look and style all of your own. You are also helping my small business and my family as well as the families of those who are always scouting out great finds for me. For that, we all THANK YOU! ❤️
