Vintage Navajo Phoenix bird "squash blossom" necklace in sterling silver. There are 10 side birds and a pendant. The beads are hand soldered hogans. The turquoise and coral chip inlay mosaic is called Shiprock mosaic. This technique was invented by the Singer brothers, Tommy Singer mof Shiprock, NM in particular, years ago. (He passed in 2014)
The birds are stamp decorated as well and have some smooth time wear. Necklace is 26" long. The pendant bird is 3" tall by 2 1/2" wide. The side birds are 2 1/4" by 1 1/4". Weight: 6.9 ounces.
