1840’s Rare American silk ivory/ mushroom colored shirred poke bonnet
with steel or wood wires. Bonnet has wide rounded front brim with wired edge which projects beyond face with small crown at back. (Edges have wear)
Lined inside. Some stitching coming undone on the lining. There is both
hand and machine stitching. On crown area there is a quarter size dirt spot.
This bonnet (for its age) still remains intact but has some dust and dirt
issues as well as silk deterioration inside at the seams.
