Vintage hair-on calf hide purse. These early ones are so hard to find. I have a couple of them in my purse collection and whenever I carry one I get so any compliments.
This one is C. 1950-1960. Both sides have outer pockets and the natural color pattern of the hide is well matched. It has extra long handles that serve as shoulder straps. Zippers are old heavy duty metal zippers. Interior has two large sections that have a center divider. One interior zippered pocket.
Purse measures 17" wide and 12" tall. The handles are 27" long.
Condition. There are a few small spots of hair loss. The black leather trim has been conditioned. There is some drying from age and there is white leather showing under the black dye in areas. Zippers work great. Leather is reinforced with a thin pressed board inside. All original. No smoke, no icky odors.
