Vintage 1970s Navajo necklace hallmarked by Wilfred Nez.

The beaded necklace is on sterling chain. The beads are early with hand solders and the holes punched from the inside out before they were soldered together. Made by hand and not machined. Necklace is 22” long. 

The pendant is pear shaped and set with one red branch coral and four turquoise stones that are clean and blue on dark chert matrix. One stone has a quartz inclusion and there are a few pyrite specs. Nice rolled frame with impressed texture. Interior has appliqué work with two feathers, spirals, twisted wire rope and raindrops. It measures 2 5/8” tall with the bail by 1 5/8”. Weight: 57.7 grams.
