This vintage squash blossom necklace came from an estate in the San Fernando Valley, CA. I feel so lucky to have been able to purchase it. It is Navajo and the Naja is sand cast in sterling silver. I love the dressy style of this Naja that is set with three natural turquoise stones. It measures 2 3/4" tall by 12 1/8" wide.
It is strung on cable with hand soldered hogans. The hogan bench beads were made in two pieces and the holes were punched in an outward direction before the halves were soldered together. This is the early style of bench bead.
There are 12 squash blossoms that measure 2" long and they are constructed in the old way as well. The necklace is 24" long. It weight: 144 grams.
C. 1935. No hallmarks. Nice original patina. Acid tested.
