Early Zuni Turquoise Bird Bead fetish necklace. The hieshi is high grade and in yellow and white. I am not sure what kind of shell was used, but it is beautiful and vibrant.

The birds are carved is turquoise that is rich with black chert matrix, Some have spider webbing. Eyes are drilled all of the way through.

Clasp is not as old as the beads and I am sure that this was re-strung at some time. Clasp is not marked, but has tarnish as 925 silver.

Necklace is 26 1/2" long. The birds are approximately 5/8" long.
