My Favorite Fetish

I want to share my most favorite Fetish necklace from my personal collection. Before the Zuni started to hand carve totem animals for their fancy and jewelry, they searched for rocks that were already shaped like animals. If you look closely, you will see a wire wrapped black stone that looks like a bird. right in the middle of the photo. See it? That bird is not only special because nature shaped it like a bird, but because outer space shaped it like a bird. It's a meteorite! My friend who is Navajo/Apache tells me that this fetish has special power. He carries a small meteorite that he found near the crater in AZ in his pocket for luck and protection. But mine is shaped like a bird. He says that makes it out of this world special. 

Maybe I should wear this piece when I ride! It has long been believed that if you wear turquoise when you ride, you will not fall off of your horse. So far so good.
