Exciting News Update

Thank goodness that tax season is almost over!

I did ok this year, have to pay, but I usually do. I did ask my CPA what I need to do or change to get ready for the big tax change in 2018. Here's what she said:

I guess that having left over inventory will cost big time for 2018.

This means that I am going to have to make a few changes. First of all, remember at Christmas time when my CPA told me to clear out inventory so I had the big blow out sales for year's end? We have to do that again now.  I just can't keep stuff around like I have been. 

I am also going to be adding something new to my website. I am in the learning/ discovery stage of this category. Something really nice with a very low profit margin. I will update you as this develops. 

The last thing is that I am working to solve a big problem.

It's how to let you know when fresh finds are being added to the website. 

So many of you collect and want to know the minute that I start adding pieces. I used to be able to post on Facebook and you'd all see the post and snag your favorite right away. Not any more. 

Facebook has changed the way that they show posts. I now have to pay for you to see them, but they can take two days to show you. That is not a good thing when I am posting fresh finds and it's something that you collect, but the post is not shown to you for 3 hours and now it's sold. It's very frustrating for all of us. 

So, I tried sending emails to let you know when fresh finds are going live. Some of you get those emails and some of those emails go to spam or your promotional folder. I try to only send one email a week as to not be flagged as spam. This works pretty well to announce sales, but not so much for fresh finds jewelry shows especially flash sales. As you know, after a buying trip I add fresh finds every day. I can't email you every day, you's get sick of me fast. 

I found myself wishing that I could send text messages to everyone so that no one would be left out. 

I found the solution! I am building my own app!  Here is a preview:

 

You'll be able to purchase straight from the app and I will be able to send push notifications to let you know that fresh finds are being added to the website. I can also have special sales events through the app that no one else knows about.  This app will be available for Apple products first and can be downloaded free through the app store...when I get it finished. 

The down side of the app is that it is a bit limited and you cannot make an offer on it. That has to be done through the website desktop or mobile version. 

But, being able to have first crack at a good thing is worth it. 

So get ready for some action!

I will finish the app and then build our first BLOW-OUT sale to make my CPA happy. As I am reducing inventory, I am seeing my favorite picker this week who has fresh estate finds for me...to buy more! Am I nuts? Possibly....Be ready for emails announcing the new APP and of course there will be a big celebration and rewards for downloading the app. Also, be ready for the Big Blow-Out SALES to come. My CPA says to move it out, even if I take a loss...OK. Will do.
