Rare antique Navajo trading post cuff bracelet that was made in the Fred Harvey era. It is set with an operculum shell, which was very popular in the Victorian era. The shell has a round black dot that I thought might be a drilled hole that was filled, but it is not. It's a little chip in the first calcium layer.
(The operculum is a calcareous lid located on the snail foot that allows the snail to close up the shell opening to protect against predators and prevent moisture loss.)
The cuff has stamp decoration including snakes and arrows. Cuff is wrought silver with cold chisel splits.
Interior measures 5 3/8" plus the opening of 1". Fits a 6 3.8" wrist and may bend a little to fit.
Measures 1 3/8" wide. Weight: 27.5 grams. Raindrosp are handmade.
