Wonderful vintage Hawaiian puka shell necklace. C. 1970s.  The necklace has 100% natural puka shells that are beautifully matched at 5.7 mm in diameter. (Measured with caliper) It is on original cable beading line and has original silver tone barrel clasp. Necklace is strung tight.

These shells have natural holes, great wear from the ocean and sand and are bleached white by the sun. They need to be cleaned with a soft brush. I have learned that collectors like them as found, so I have left them as such. 

Necklace is 16 3/4" long. Weight: 22.7 grams. Fine, collectible and valuable necklace.
