Vintage 1940s Navajo hand made sterling silver squash blossom necklace. It is set with 13 natural turquoise stones. Many of them have pyrite and white quartz inclusions as well as matrix.
The Naja measures 3 1/8" wide by 2 7/8" tall. The blossoms are 1 3/4" long. Necklace is 30" long and weighs 6.5 ounces.
The hogans were hand formed in halves and the holes were punched from the inside out before they were soldered together. This is the early method of construction.
Strung on wire and said wire show on the back of the Naja. Blossoms and Naja have simple appliqé work with hand dropped raindrops.
Tarnished. No hallmarks. Acid tested sterling, Nice patina. Great turquoise.
