Wonderful vintage Hawaiian puka shell necklace. C. 1970s.  The necklace has 100% natural puka shells that have a diameter range from 6.7 to 7.3 mm in diameter. (Measured with caliper) It is on original cable beading line and has original tarnished brass barrel clasp. 

These shells have natural holes, great wear from the ocean and sand and are bleached white by the sun. They need to be cleaned with a soft brush. I have learned that collectors like them as found, so I have left them as such. 

Necklace is 13 3/4" long. Weight: 26.1 grams. Fine, collectible and valuable necklace.
