Old Navajo fluted button ring in sterling silver. The button is backed, but hollow. The shank is hand formed and cold chisel split. This piece was solid black when I found it. I suspect that is may have actually been in a fire. I cleaned it, but there is still some crusty black on the back. The dents in the center of the button is not damage, but how it was made.
Size 4. It has a diameter of 5/8". Weight: 4 grams. C. 1915.
